Hi there! As you may have seen on my social media, I have new foster kittens, 2 babies of just 2.5 weeks old. Because of that, I won't blog as much in the coming days or even weeks, they still need to be bottle-fed round the clock! I do have a few hours in between, but my head isn't fully into polish right now and I also don't want to risk having wet polish on my nails if one of them needs unexpected help :) I hope to post more of them on my foster blog sometime today, but I might just go for a nap instead, haha. Anyway, now you know why my blog might go a little quiet, but here's a quick review post in between!

I'm starting with this image plate by UberChic Beauty. This plate has an illustration from a very old book called Dream Boats and Other Stories, and UberChic Beauty turned the illustration into a Special Edition plate. How cool is that! This plate is so unique, and I think it's such a sweet and special image. I'm curious to see if there's more images like this in the UCB future! The plate has the usual UCB platesize and it worked like a charm, nothing new there from this brand :) I planned on a part of the feathery image on the right on some nails, and those tiny stars from the top on a few other nails, but I found myself going for the cherry tree designs on the left and right, near her feet. Those stars and feathers will have to come some other time! I see several parts that I'd like to see on the nail sometime, including the border, that slightly rough line could be turned into great designs on the nail. Do you have a favorite illustration from a book that you'd love to see turned into a plate? Here's a direct link to this plate on the UCB website, the plate costs $14.99.

The stamping polish that I used for this mani is from a brand that's sold by BornPrettyStore, it's called Ya Qin An and the color that I used here is #16. It's a sandy light grey color, beautiful! I was impressed by how well it works on both light and darker colors. It's a real stamping polish, which already becomes clear when you open the bottle. Stamping polish often smells a bit different, this one does too, and you can see on the brush that it's a little thicker and very pigmented. The only 'downside' I can come up with, is that the square bottle wasn't easy to hold for my photos :D They have some lovely colors (currently there's 10 colors to choose from), and it's definitely a brand I'd like to try more of! You can find this stamping polish here, a bottle costs $6.06 for 18ml. Coupon code ABJ61 will give 10% off on your order!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics is launching a new collection, for which the presale will start tomorrow (August 1st) and will run till the 5th. These beauties arrived just in time and I rushed to get the swatches done, so you can see them before the presale starts! As Femme Fatale Cosmetics says:

"The Mad Tea-Party Collection is based upon a chapter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The contrast between muted and vibrant colours with variety of finishes reflects the soberness and eccentricity (respectively) found within the characters in this chapter."

To me this looks like a typical FFC collection, lots of finishes and various colors, often combined into a single polish. Intricate and pretty, and with plenty variety to offer something for most people. Here's a quick look, check out the full swatches further down :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics The Mad Tea-Party

Let me start by saying that my swatches are all with topcoat, I used a thin topcoat for my swatches, yet most only needed a single layer. A few could do with a second layer. Now let's look at the polishes!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Infamous Riddle

Starting with a very unique polish: Infamous Riddle. Of course almost all polish is unique, but FFC is a brand that often really makes you think 'wow, so unique!', haha! Like many in this collection, this polish had that effect on me too, I haven't seen anything like it before! It's an olivegreen polish, with a hint of gold, and a strong, coppery/pink duochrome. Bonuspoints for looking so smooooth ^^ This covered in 2 easy coats.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Up Above The World You Fly

The base of Up Above The World You Fly is a dusty lavender, with a very strong blue duochrome that leans a little green. Those colors always look nice together! The polish is packed with very fine silver glitters, which did make it a little gritty, so this one took 2 coats for full coverage, and 2 layers of topcoat.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Always Tea-Time

My pics of Always Tea-Time aren't showing it as I would've liked, I swatched it really early this morning and the light wasn't optimal yet (unfortunately I didn't have enough time to wait for better light). This was again 2 coats for full coverage, and it's a combo of a taupe base packed with bright magenta pink glitters in various sizes. There's a subtle shimmer in the back as well, as the macroshot shows best. I really like the combo of taupe and bright pink or purple, so it's nice to see them combined into a polish like this!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics March Hare

Let's continue with March Hare, an golden-brown base (which varies a little from a lighter to a deep, darker color, depending on the angle) with green flash, that makes it look a little olive at times as well. It also has lotsa holographic glitters in different sizes! It looks a little like the larger glitters are sitting on top of the polish, but that's mainly the pics. Having said that, I guess it doesn't come as a surprise that I doubled on topcoat here, and the polish itself also needed 2 coats.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Wonderland

Shown here is -you guessed it- 2 coats of Wonderland, which is a blue base (leans a little muted and a little teal) with a strong magenta pink shimmer - which unfortunately doesn't show well here, this is not the first time I struggle with that beautiful pink/purple shimmer in a Femme Fatale polish! It also has little flakies, I'm pretty sure it's the red to green ones, but because of everything that's going on in the polish, it's a bit hard to see.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Two Days Wrong

Time for a thermal! This is Two Days Wrong, and the colorchange on my nails during the application fooled me a little, I went for 3 thicker coats but 3 thin should be fine too. It's a light pink (warm) to bright purple (cold) thermal, filled with flakies that came out easily (FFC sure knows how to pack a lot in a polish while keeping it easy to get it all onto the nail!). On the following photos you can see the transition and the cold look.

Sometimes flakies can be really visible on top of a light polish, like you can see little bits of plastic instead of pretty flakies, if that makes sense? Not with this one! it almost looks like the flakies change color too, and they combine perfect with both the pink and the purple.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Twinkle, Twinkle

This is 3 coats of Twinkle, Twinkle, and it sure does match the name, it's very sparkly! This is a blue base with a strong purple shimmer, and packed with the same size and shape glitters, but then in various colors. I think it's purple, light purple and turquoise. It shows a little blue on my pics, the blue base made it harder to pick up the rich purple at the same time :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Mad As A Hatter

Last, but -oh wow!- certainly not least, Mad As A Hatter. It took 3 coats to give this result, and I can't get over how pretty this is! I'd say this is a dark teal jelly base, with lots of red to green flakies and a red shimmer. Because of the base I used 3 coats, to cover the tips a bit more, but I bet this would work wonders when layered as well.

There they are, all 8 polishes of the The Mad Tea-Party collection. The last polish is clearly the winner for me, but I can appreciate all of these creations, because they're done so well! They have a nice application & coverage, and FFC can really make me forget that I'm maybe not always loving some colors on my nails, because their polishes are just so beautiful and unique! They are often a challenge for me and my camera, and having said that: yes, a lot of these are even better in real life :)

If you want to get your hands on any (or all) of these beauties, make sure to order them in time! The presale runs from August 1-5 and they're likely to be available from webshops like Shiro Cosmetics, Color4Nails, Beautometry, Rainbow Connection, Beauty So Fly and Dope Nails. Or just look on the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website! What's your favorite of this collection? Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend ♥

Morning! Here's a mani from the vault, with an image that stamped crisp but went a bit runny from the top coat. The result is almost like it's handpainted with a wider brush or something, don't you agree? That wasn't my intention, but I don't mind it here either :)

Purple and taupe combine very well if you ask me, I've done such combos before but then usually with darker polishes. But it works in this lighter & brighter mix too :) You can see the plate that I used for this mani in this post. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend! ♥

Earlier today my sister was visiting with my niece, and thanks to her little girl showing interest in my polish, I noticed this glitter polish standing in the back of the drawer. It's so easy to forget about some polishes if you have a lot! But as soon as I had it in my hands, I knew I wanted to wear it again, and with a taupe base. And there's one taupe that I love more than all the others, so that was an easy choice :) Here's the result!

I just love Below Deck, the color, the application, the coverage, all of it! The glitter that I used it packed with various colors and sizes glitter, and I dabbed it on my nails, adding more and more to the tips of my nails. Top coat to even things out, matte top coat to finish it off. What do you think of this combo, and do you often find polish in your stash that you forgot about? Thanks for looking :)

I didn't have as much variation in this year's nail art manis, but I just never get tired of a nice stamping combo! So this top 10 (in random order) has a lot of those manis :) Stampy stampy! ♥

You know how I often go for tone-on-tone or colors that you just know will match well, so this combo was a bit unusual for me, but I really liked it! Original post.

Randomly sponged and white stamping. Love it! Original post.

Would've preferred smaller white dots, but that polish and image matched SO well if you ask me :) Original post.

This image and colors just worked for me! Original post.

Tape, glitters & rhinestones gave this combo, I think the glitters worked well for a taped mani! 1 thin layer gave a lot of result and still gave a smooth, even finish without trouble. Original post.

I love this image, ánd I love stamping with Rose Bower! Original post.

This mani was definitely one of my favorites, lalalove it! Original post.

Stamped with a holo on my favorite taupe :) Original post.

Simple gradient with added glitter polish, pretty simple but such a bright & happy combo! Original post.

Subtle golden shimmery base with golden stamping :) Original post.

There were 2 manis that didn't make it, but gave me a hard time choosing... So I'm just gonna sneak them in here ^^ Uptown Girl with Rose Bower & Beautiful Lie with black stamping.

Hope you enjoyed this post, and I'd love to hear what your favorite is! Tomorrow I'll post my fav kitten pics, what better way to end the year than with cute fuzzy kittens ♥
